Sails are still around!!
Report Date: February 26, 2006
As to prior weeks the sail bite had seemed to slow, until the past few days with trips getting nearly 10 shots a day at fish! Mixed in with the sails have been a decent dolphin bite. Also as we get closer to our spring time fishing, we have seen many small rays moving through the area. We managed to get a large cobia off a huge leatherback turtle on our last trip, tipping the scales at around 45lbs. A very nice fish! Within the past two weeks, many have also tried there shot at blue marlin as a few have been caught and seen around the area. Some fish in the 400-500 lb range. A boat out of Stuart had 2 blue releases in one day this week!! Looks like things are looking up as the sails are hanging around, and bait seems to be in great quantity in and around the area. As long as this stays good, fishing should remain to improve as well. Catch em up!
