While there have been a number of articles written about the resurgence of Swordfishing along Florida’s East Cost very few people realize how good it really has become over the last couple of years. Our Swordfishing is an all night fishing experience. We use the larger boats in our fleet for these trips so that you can enjoy some reasonable comfortable conditions for the brief naps we all try to grab between fish. We do not make these trips unless the weather conditions are predicted to be very good. Most evenings we get from 4 to 8 strikes and are able to catch a few of those fish. These fish weigh from 50 to 200 pounds and when you get hooked up it is an unbelievable battle. These fish are abundant year round but the best time to fish for them is during warm weather when the ocean is calm. I enjoy the fishing for these magnificent fish during the warm summer evenings when the ocean is calm and the fish are cooperative. Select the time that is best for you and catch a BILLFISH that few anglers have caught.

Yellowfin Tuna

Regardless of where you go the best of the Yellowfin Tuna action along the east coast of the United States seems to be 80 to 100 miles offshore. Here in Stuart that is also the case. Beginning in May and continuing into the early Fall the Yellowfin action is outstanding most of the time. On the Yellowfin trips, we leave the dock before daylight and we return as the sun is getting very low in the western sky—it is a good 12 to 13 hours away from the dock. It normally takes about 3 hours to get to the area where the Tuna are located. We fish at least 5 to 6 hours before making our return trip home. In addition to the Yellowfin, we have a good opportunity to catch some BIG Dolphin on these trips as we often see them and/or conditions that will hold them during the trip to and from the areas where we find the Yellowfin. Wahoo and an occasional Marlin are also possible catches.
